The governments of Argentina and India reaffirmed in a joint statement their commitment to strengthening their bilateral ties, with a focus on military-to-military interactions, mutual trade expansion in important industries like technology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy, and lithium mining and processing.
Lithium Diplomacy Takes Center Stage
Argentina’s vital role in India’s search for lithium, a resource at the core of the global energy transition and electric mobility, is among the most important elements of the renewed conversation. Some of the largest lithium reserves in the world are found in Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia, which make up the “Lithium Triangle” of South America.
